New podcast and prize recap

For your aural pleasure! How was your weekend? Still coming down from a post-wedding high here after seeing a very dear friend marry the love of his life. Oh, it was swoonworthy stuff.

After a festive season sabbatical, Carla and I have a new Two Fit Chicks episode today, in which Carla has a N.E.W. acronym to help jazz up your exercise routine in 2011, I consider renouncing my Fit Chick title, and we chat to Charlotte of The Great Fitness Experiment. So if you're in the running to win her book, why not check it out and make sure she is a real person! 😉

  1. I continue to read about “diets don’t work” and believe more and more that it is so true just from my own experience. I know I can’t plug a book here but I am reading about the myth of the calories in/calories out legend of weight loss and why this is not so!!

  2. Just saying a general ‘thanks’ for the effort you’ve put into the sellouts – whether or not I’m lucky enough to win one, its great to read your personal recommendations. Lots of things for me to put on a list to check out sometime soon!

  3. @Myra – You can mention a book, please feel free! The warning is more for the annoying people who write “NICE BLOG HEY BUY MY DIET PILLS” 😉

@Jo – thanks very much, really chuffed that so many people were up for donating a prize! 🙂

  4. Hi Shauna,

Just wanted to say I really enjoy your blog, sometimes when the food, weight issue becomes overwhelmingly, I log on here and read all the posts and your continuing journey, I don’t feel so lost. I have a long history of diets, and have also recently been finding out more about Intuitive eating, through Beyond Chocolate and Geneen Roth. I just wanted to find out if you had read Gillian Riley, Eating Less and if so what you had thought of it. As someone who has done all the dieting and finding Intuitive eating also a bit of challenge. I am still looking for answers, anyone was just interested if you had read it? Thanks for reading my long comment, question.

  5. I just discovered your and I love it! I have decided once and for all to lose this 60 pounds I have dragged around for the last two decades and I am in need of inspirstion! I am so happy I found your blog!
    Have a pretty day!

  6. It was a good podcast; Charlotte is always great fun to listen to as well as you two.

Why not have a podcast devoted to all the really good and almost-convincing excuses people come up with to not exercise and eat right? I mean, we (not you, but us) devote a lot of time and energy to creating really good excuses and psyching ourselves into believing them… or is it just me who does that?

  7. My boyfriend borrow my Ipod then “forgot” (read: carelessly left it!) at his friends house and I only just got it back, so looking forward to listening to this during my lunchtime walk today. And Happy Australia day!! I am eating a real Lemington, made by a real Australian (!) as I type!

  8. Shauna, thanks so much for mentioning Katherine Center’s book – I followed the link and purchased the Bright Side of Disaster – a fabulous book – I have since purchased Get Lucky and look forward to reading it. You have great taste!

  9. I’m sorry I missed out on the 10th Anniversary hoopla but I wanted you to know that I think you and this blog are wonderful, and I look forward to your podcasts with eagerness and anticipation. You, my dear, are the “real deal” and have been from the beginning. Don’t ever change and thank you for sharing everything fit to print for 10 years now!
