Can you hear me out there? I think we’re all moved over now!
This is the last of my blogs to be migrated to WordPress and it’s a big relief. Since the archives are so old and creaky and moving from Typepad is notoriously painful I invested in help from Foliovision. If you have a huge, messy archive and are looking to escape I can highly recommend their Typepad to WordPress service.
If you spot anything weird or broken, please give me a shout. Woohoo!
Testing comments with FACES!
Looks good to me! Glad you’ve escaped the clutches of Typepad.
Ooh… it’s pretty.
Well done! It’s always pretty painful moving platform but worth it (til the next time!). And very smart it looks too.
its lovely! x
Thanks dudes! I hope to go fancier than default template at some point but this’ll do nicely for now
Nice….glad the move went smoothly!
Helloooo! (just wanted my face on your blog
)
My face! Where is it??!!!
I think you need to sign in with a WordPress or gravatar account?
hey! looks fantastic!!! Welcome to wordpress, which you gotta loooooooooooooooooove…. xoxoox
Does it work?
YEAH!!! It really does!!!! Shauna, I have to thank you very much for sharing a part of your life with us! Reading your book and blog give me hope and happyness! It feels like knowing you as a good old friend. You made me writing my own blog and it gives me so much fun and friendship with a lot of people of the german WW-page. I’ve met a lot of them and found some real friends. I love you so much, thank you!
Wow! That is so cool to hear, thank you!
Hear u loud and clear
Loverly!!
You inspired me to upload my face as a gravatar.
Lookin’ good Julie!
you.
awesome.
I in awe.
Did I read the site correctly? You paid $500 or more to have your blog moved?
Yes, Vickie. I have a big fat archive of nearly 12 years of writing and good search engine rankings. Typepad has not moved with the times in terms of features so it no longer met my requirements. However it’s really difficult to move off the platform – there’s all sorts of issues with broken links and images. There’s no simple way to get all your images out of Typepad but Foliovision found a way to do it. So with the size of my blog & my lack of skills I decided (after trying & failing to do it myself last year) it was worthwhile to save up the $500 for the service.
Wow!
I never thought about the stats/ search engine stuff and can see why that would be important. Plus having your blog safe is important too.
I was on the verge of going private like you vickie, trying to make it work; it was driving me bonkers!
now everything’s all neat and tidy… ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Hello, back! It looks good!
I just found this blog and am really enjoying reading them. I’ve struggled with dieting for most of my adult life, and am finding this very inspirational for me!! I’m going to spend the rest of the weekend reading the posts, and sending some links to a few of my friends (get ready Linda McDonald and Tara Lidell … they are coming your way! lol). Thanks again for this resource and I hope to make some posts of my own in the future once my confidence level raises a little.
Marcia
Thanks for the kind words Marcia, all the best to you!
