I've added a contact page which spells out my stance on emails, comments, advertising and blog content. It may sound wanky to have an official policy on these things, but it's got to the point where I need to explain how things work so people don't think I am being obnoxious.
I love getting emails from readers, but I've been getting behind on replies as I'm spending far too much time sifting through all the non-reader emails. Like folk asking me to review their weirdo diet products or to casually mention their book or to run adverts for their miracle fat vanish creme.
I like to keep this site completely non-commercial. While I appreciate the PR folk are just doing their jobs, I'd prefer to spend my time replying to emails from readers. I'm catching up but apologies if you've written recently and I've not replied yet.
And now here's the book meme that Sandra tagged me for last week!
1. Grab the nearest book
2. Open the book to page 123
3. Find the fifth sentence
4. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog along with these instructions
5. Tag 5 people
Paul Bradley's tootbrush stood at ease in a glass next to the taps. It was old, the bristles worn and splayed, proof of a life that preceded their strange encounter. Martin always found something poignant in the sight of a singular toothbrush.

Since I've been a slowarse I think everyone's been tagged for this already? Feel free to carry it on if you haven't!

I was too much of a nancy girl to ride my bike without shoes.
There were little plastic bumpy bits on the pedals and it hurt my feet!
Not to meantion the pain of searing flesh if you stopped and put your feet on the road ;)

Of course, if you're big enough, you don't get a wedgie from your tiny bike shorts but from the bike seat itself. Ouch! :)

Did you like this new Atkinson book? I LOVED Case Histories and I loved this one too, but maybe just a tiny tad less.
Or maybe you're not done yet, in which case I'll just shut up.

Hiya Wendy! I've only read one chapter and I've had the bloody book since Christmas. I loved Case Histories so much that I'm kind reluctant to dip into this one in case it's not as good! I've heard a few people say the same thing as you...

I just want to say your contact page rocks. Honestly. I've banged on about this on my book blog (and created a bit of a storm last November) but there's too much marketing/commercial shite masquerading as blog posts these days, so it's nice to see one blogger (YOU!) spell out your policy. Kudos to you!
