Early Show Update Update Update
January 22, 2009
Howdy comrades! Wild gooses* could not keep me away from American television this morning, but I did not realise that my segment was being taped. D'oh! So my apologies for misinforming you again. It will be aired next week. It will!
So I have a couple more hours in this lovely town before I fly out, arriving in Edinburgh at 7.30am then off to the office where I will attempt to be a productive worker! Hope you are all well, wherever you may be.
* I know the plural of goose is geese but gooses/horses, poetic licence and all**
** Gareth just said, "Why wild gooses?" and I had to explain about the plane in the Hudson, the goose that got me bumped last week, geddit now Doc? :P
Early Show Update Update Update Update: It's going to be screened tomorrow, Monday 26th January.
I'm Shauna Reid, Scotland-dwelling Aussie

I woke up last night at 2:30 and remember that I need to record the Early Show. Hehe, foiled again.

Please let us know if they tell you what day it's going to be used! (Sounds like an administrative screwup on their end- but so long as they kept paying your hotel in NYC, glad you got a good trip out of it!)

DUUUDE! I'm a new fan, having been introduced through People, then rushing out 2 weeks later to get your book, and finally abandoning my 2 toddlers to their spectacularly patient father over the New Year's holiday while I read it cover to cover. Though I was about to start lobbying The Early Show to "Let the lassie through!", I will continue to wait patiently. Hahaha. Anyhoo...gotta go get on that treadmill...it's naptime!

Safe Trip Shauna....and I look forward to your TV spot over here. Carmine says he wishes he could have hung out more while you were here and says we should come bug you kids over in Scotland.
Thanks for the book signage...talk to ya soon.

I can't believe it! I am a teacher and had it on during my off periods. I kept hoping but then the Oscars came and that was it. Please let us know when they are going to air it.

I'm sure that Gareth will be happy to see you safely back in Scotland.

Dear Shauna,
I wanted to tell you how much I loved your book. I read it all day on Tuesday -- I had the day off -- and sat there watching the Inauguration, reading your book, grooving on Hope and Change.
Thank you for writing it, and sharing yourself.

Too funny! That whole week of waiting JUST to be TAPED for pete's sake?? HAHAHA... sorry, funny but not... at least you got a bit of a vacation and you probably have the world's greatest boss! That, or you owe him/her a dinner or something now :)

OH THANK GOODNESS! I watched my DVR show on fast forward looking for you, while the hubs was playing with kids. I figured since you weren't on today they'd bumped you again. So glad you got it on tape at last. Let us know what day next week if you know....or else I'll just tape it everyday until I see you. Gotta get my Shauna fix. :)

Golly gosh, you're such a media star. How exciting.
I really LOVED your Crumbs post. Beautifully written. I read it out at work to all my English teacher pals (ok, not quite such good publicity as the whole of America) and we all giggled, wow, that's so good. (Literary criticism at its best.)

Can't wait to see it :)

New reader here, don't you just hate it when someone steals YOUR idea and makes abizillion dollars with it? The cupcake looks yummy even squashed and thats a fancy shot with the New York skyline behind it. So maybe a second photojournalists career awaits you. Glad you liked my little republic, hurry back.

my supervisor at work said, oh! I am going to order this weight loss book from online, let me show you it looks really good, maybe you'd want one too. Can you believe it, the book was Dietgirl! So I smugly told her that I already own it and am currently reading it.

I hope you took advantage of your extra time in NY. You missed a great weekend of snowmobiling. ;)
I'm glad I didn't miss your Early Show segment. I set my VCR (yes, I'm still in the dark ages here) the first time but ran late the other day and forgot this last time so I'm happy it isn't showing 'til next week. Be sure to let us know what day so I can tie that string around my finger.

Congrats on the Early Show! It's now week 3 of BodyPump and my arms are mighty and my legs are screaming a little less the next day. But you were right, the first "day after" was murder, with a BonJovi soundtrack.
Smiles!

Hey there folks... thanks very much for all your comments! And thank you kindly to those who read the book, it means a lot! Got a stupid cold at the moment so way behind with everything even more than usual.

Hello,
I just picked up your book yesterday... After spending all day eating junk food and crap and feeling terrible about myself. I love your writing style. Especially because you really capture everything I feel when I'm eating. Also, its really interesting that we share a similar name (I went by Shauna for ten years to feel more feminine and pretty) so reading it really hits me pretty hard. Anyway, I'm about an eighth of the way through your book and I'm hoping that NOW is the time that I make the change.
Thanks for listening to me ramble,
Shaun

I hope you had a good time in the states. Your views of yourself and how you see food and think about it, is so me!! I went to Sydney and discovered timtams, you should see me drive the local International grocer crazy waiting for them to come in!! And there was so many other items I loved there, my daughter lives there now, I have hopefully bribed her into sending me Haighs chocolate frogs. I assume you have tasted those since you are a chocoholic like myself!!!
