Serving suggestions:

  • Bring us along on this weekend's run.
  • Tote us in yer mp3 player to the gym for a listen while you lift.
  • Crouch in your office or cubicle while you pretend to work

Why is the podcast as of yet unnamed? What on earth do we plan to cover? Why have we chosen to inflict this all upon you, the innocent masses? Have a listen to find out all the answers and more.

Lord have mercy on our souls...

(seriously though, sounds like fun!)

ohhhhhhhhhhhh, this is pretty cool! I love it :) hehe, sounds like fun!

You should call it Braun vs. Brains :)

Awesome - you are damn good. Disappointed you haven't picked up a Scottish accent yet - haha! Not very imaginative so haven't got a name suggestion. Will email you/leave a comment in a couple of weeks once I know what our schedule looks like. We leave here on 9 Sept - couple of weeks in Europe then arrive Edinburgh on 27 Sept. Only got 12 days in Scotland so cramming a lot in. Thinking that an evening might be best as guessing you have to earn a crust during the day and I think Isobelle will be working too. Will be in touch Z xx

Excellent!

OMG, I just started listening, two of my favourite bloggers in the one podcast!

Woot! I listened. I loved it. :)

Eeeeeeeeeeeep! hope it's okay! we will have proper segment and interviews and stuff in future episodes... this is just a wee intro (that went on a bit too long :)

@Zanna - Bon voyage! I'll zap you an email!

Love what I've heard so far...have to keep pausing to answer work phones :P Well done to both of you! x

Body adventures of Brawns and Brains.

I am not sure why I've never come by your blog before, but am so happy to have found you via MizFit.

I left some ideas on Carlas blog and I also thought maybe...

"Voice of the Blogoshere"

"The Blogoshere Speaks"

"The MizDiet Pop a Comment"

Lovely - can't wait to hear the next one (on iTunes?) in October!

Congratulations on your podcast.

Enjoyed it and look forward to more to come.

As to the name for it how about 'The Voices of MizFit Dietgirl'? The only problem I can see is if a listener is a man and feels that he's not included...hmmm bu**er. I guess you could speak for the men out there too but...

TK

How lovely is DG's voice/accent huh?

I said to my husband Id listen to her read the back of a shampoo bottle :)

ooh theres a title:
Better Than The Back of a Shampoo Bottle.

Have a great weekend.

THANKS groovers!

@Miz - It's very nasal! This is the cold that neeeeeeeeeeever ends...

love it!!! and funnily you both sound how i thought you would too, miz exactly and DG, aussie with a scots twang!

How wonderful!! I didn't listen to the whole thing yet, but what I heard was awesome. Congratulations!

One time I did a radio interview, and I was so nervous. You don't sound nervous at all!

Can't wait to download it for my next workout. :)

I love your blog(s) (and book) and I'm pretty sure I'll like your podcasts. So please, continue!

Your timing is excellent because I need to (re)start lifting weights regularly. I totally forgot about you mentioning MizFit earlier as a great source of inspiration/information. I'm checking out her video's whilst I type :-).

Thanks

Awesome! Just downloaded it. Lemme know when you have a feed setup and I'll add it to my subscriptions in iTunes.

OMG! Can't wait to have a listen...

Woo Hoo! I'm a podcast addict, so I'm thrilled to hear that you have one now! (I've been lurking and following your blog for awhile, ever since I stumbled upon your book and fell in love with it!)

LOVE IT! Love both you gals and the great blogs. Can't wait to hear more.

Rhonda

Well it's gotta be Mizfit b/c she has the same type post!

I thought it was adorable, ladies. Well done!

Ha! I was right.... listening now.

Good, good stuff Shauna. Can't wait for the official launch in October.

Loved it!

This is fabulous! Oh my gosh I'm so excited. How fun to get to hear your lovely voices! Great job you guys. Can't wait 'til October.

I love it! I can't wait until October!!!
Thank you for doing this.

Oh you sneaky minx-es...I'm sooo stoked, to of my favorite gals on one podcast? Now the world can end!

xo,
-Bex

I missed the W I meant my TWO favorite gals! I'm sooo illiterate.

I have been wearing black and mourning since the day Jillian broke up with radio- and now my other favorite fitness lady is on the airwaves. Just when I think you can't rock any further.. You go ahead and rock some more. Well done, and thanks!

How fabulous - that's amazing. I can't wait to hear Episode 1 in October.

No ideas off the top of my head I'm afraid but you have inspired me to sign up for a body pump class at my gym on Sunday.

Awesome!

***squeeeeeeeaaal!!!!*** (glass shattering)

My two favorite bloggers doing a podcast together!

(insert heavenly choir soundbite here)

I’m so excited!!! And I loved loved LOVED the inaugural one. (Oh, wait, this is the other side of the pond. Make that "lurved lurved LUUUUURVED".)

But do I have a name suggestion for you? Not yet!

I, too, love BodyPump class. (And I loved the writeup of it in your book...precisely what it's like!) Our instructor is great, she notices the new folks and is always coaching us on proper technique. (And she has the cutest Brazilian drill instructor yell!)

Just thought I'd pop a comment to say I LOVED IT!!!

Woo! Finally a podcast I'm actually interested in listening to. Good to hear the Aussie accent has remained intact even after all this time!

Loved it! What a great idea!

Oh yes, you should name it Brawns and Brains, maybe with a "Pinky and the Brain"-type intro: "The Brawny and the Brain, Brain, Brain Brain... -- So what are we doing tonight, Brain? -- Same thing we do every night, Brawny: We try to take over the world!" (Or freezer. Or gym.)

And... maybe it's too cocky, but I think you should set the high goal to try to get Jillian to guest star on your podcast sometime. I know it would be like birthday, Easter and Christmas all rolled into one for a lot of us :oD

I LOVE THIS ATTITUDE:

maybe it's too cocky, but I think you should set the high goal to try to get Jillian to guest star on your podcast sometime. I know it would be like birthday, Easter and Christmas all rolled into one for a lot of us

and Ive slapped it on my visionboard :)

Jillian did a guest post for me once and, when they tried to foist some recycled writing my way, I said no.
I told her pr people I would rather have nothing than something which has been printed a million times over.

guess what? she (they? tomato tomaaaahto :)) wrote something new.

never hurts to ask huh?

That was lovely. Jillian is a bit hard-core for me. I loved this podcast and can't wait till October. Thanks!

Hi! I was sad when Jillian stopped her radio program - now I can look forward to listening to yours! Thank you for filling that void. I've read your blog for awhile, and love your humor and honesty! Best of luck...I'll be a faithful listener :)

Hi, thought I'd pop on over and leave a comment to tell you too how much I LOOOOVED the podcast! Please make it a regular thing. You and Miz are different enough to make it really interesting, but with a common goal. Love hearing your voice, and point of view, and funny phrases! I really love having something regular like this to look forward to!

Shauna,

I loved your book! The podcast sounded lovely! What a great voice you have!

Thanks!

Jasmine

Loved it! Looking forward to your launch in October. Keep up the good work.

Really enjoyed that. Well done :)

I am so excited you two have decided to do this together. This is going to be so much fun to see what you come up with next!

Fit to Be Heard

Hi Shauna!
I am a BIG fan of your book! It’s so honest, not sugar coating the arduous journey of weight loss. Addressing both the physical and mental aspects, you tell the truth about it all. It’s not glamorous, it’s not easy but it’s worth it. Most everyone can lose weight but getting through the muck of one’s own self-image is the challenge.
Not to take up too much space, I want you to know that I am inspired by your story. I have started my own blog http://shut-up-and-do-it.blogspot.com/ , to chronicle a weight loss (and debt loss) story of my own. Thanks for your book and wish me luck

Loved it!

I would call it "Fit Chat at the BlogPod Cafe" You both remind me of regular friends sharing the same conversations I have with my friends about fitness, what you're doing, how you got to where you are, advice... I look forward to October!!

Thanks!!

I loved the podcast and am looking forward to listening to more! The two of you are great together. Thanks so much for doing this! I loved Lynne's suggestion of fit chat for a name.

I haven't listened yet but have to run 7km this weekend (one more than I've ever done) in prep for the 10km I'm doing in less than 4 weeks time. Eeeek! Know you'll help me through it. :)

I loved the podcast!! You gals are off to a great start. Got a little fit of giggles listening to Miss Fit breathe like a dragon into the mic. Sure, you're amateurs, but that was funny as hell. I think each of your intentions (blog, book, podcast) are always so full of impressive why-not-me spirit & your desire to help others.
And as for a title--let's see--I'll have to think, or I'll come up with something so lame, it'd be sad. I'll find you in October!

Fab, inspiring and something that will make me chew my fingernails off with anxious excitement! Loved it...

Great idea,
will this by chance be uploaded to iTunes?

Awesome! Lurved it!!!!!!

@Lari - We hope to get it on iTunes once we launch properly :)

THANK YOU everyone!!!

Just finally found it on my iPod (sorry to admit that kind of stupidity) and listened to it during my warmup today for my long run. I thought it was a lot of fun.

My name suggestion is "Pop Fitness." Although, you and MizFit are both superhero-types, and there has to be a way to leverage that. "Fitness Heroes?"

Now I know why the podcast is nameless. Naming things is hard.

Your initial questions were great ones and I loved the name "Ivana Liftalot."

Loved it! Can't wait to listen to the next one.

Popping a comment to say I loved it and can't wait til it becomes official...which should be this month, no? Very excited. Can't wait to hear the name!
