What the heck is it?
Cathe Friedrich has reigned as the home fitness queen since the days of VHS but she always moves with the times! Her entire 150+ workout catalogue in available digital format, so you can watch your downloads on any computer or video-enabled mobile device, such an iPhone.

Why do you dig it?
I'm a longtime Cathe fan and I like the convenience of the downloads – no fiddling with DVDs, great for travelling and no international shipping fees! I wrote a review of Cathe Downloads back in 2009, including a list of my favourite Cathe workouts. Since then I've become hooked on her new Low Impact Series which delivers a comprehensive butt kicking while being gentle on your joints. From interval training to spinning to yoga to step to circuits, I'm impressed at her creativity at coming up with so many ways to get the heart rate working without the knees protesting!

Nerdy aside
Cathe did an exercise class at the Fitbloggin conference last May. I can happily report that she makes you work just as hard in person as when trapped inside your computer. And she signed my paper plate. Swoon!

  7. Great workout with out stress on the joints – I’m in! I am sad to be worried about joints while in my 30s, but my knees are shot as well. I would love to get this and burn off the pounds I put on in 2011.

  11. Back on the moonwalk training programme again, after saying my 3rd would be my last in 2008. A bit of variety in my fitness regime would be just the ticket.

  16. I smiled when I saw that paper plate. Was it from the workout or lunch? My instructor makes us do all sorts of things with paper plates (sliding foot or hand out on a paper plate as part of our workout move).

  19. My current gym’s timetable is hopeless, so I’ve joined a new cheaper gym without classes. This would be a great way to supplement my gym workouts.

  20. I never used a workout video of any kind, but now I live in Japan, it is hard for me to find a gym that`s affordable and that fits, so this would really be a huge deal for me!

  24. I had a perfectly lovely day, but i had to go to the Dr for antibiotics which was less than fun and took about a week!
