Friday Link Feast #18

Outside the window, the sun is shining. I repeat, THE SUN IS SHINING! It's been doing that for the past eight days in a row. The forecast says it's not to last (derr) so I've been making the most of it: digging like a mofo in the allotment, walking round the yard barefoot, eating handfuls of blueberries and nagging Gareth about sunscreen.

Now here be links:

Hell yeah! I'm glad I didn't listen to that gloomy voice that said, "don't go to yoga til you've re-lost that lard". I've been consistently doing Pilates for over a year now, and yoga for about six months. I'm so much stronger than when I started, in spite of wishing for a yoga snorkel at times. If I'd listened to that voice I'd just be another year older and no bendier. With time and practice, I hope to backbend like Amber some day. Rock on.

The rhubarb is back from the dead! Giddyup.

  1. There is so much to love about this post. Firstly, the rhubarb. Cue: rhubarb crumble (droool). Secondly, perfume. I love J’adore and Amarige. I *think* they are both Givenchy. J’adore is the only perfume I make a point to buy when I run out.

  2. Ooooh rhubarb = happiness! Do you grow that yourself?? Fab pic. And that risotto looks really yummy! I’m definitely going to try it out, thanks. My all time favourite perfume, which I’ve worn ever since I was 16, is Samsara by Guerlain. I don’t wear it all the time but I always have a bottle on hand and usually wear it when I’m going out in the evening and it really gets me in the mood. The power of smell is amazing. I can’t believe that still I love it as much now as I did 20 years ago!! Looking forward to hearing about your perfume mission.

  3. Also very jealous of the ‘barb, gosh I love that stuff. On the perfume front I’m addicted to Laura Mercier’s Ambre Passion Elixir. It’s got geranium, saffron, patchouli, jasmine, amber, cedarwood and musk along with apricot and rose notes. Delicious and completely addictive.

  4. that risotto sounds great – even when going in to winter as we are down under!

52 perfumes sounds crazy but I will put my two cents in and say that my favourite perfume is elizabeth arden green tea

    have a great easter!

  5. I read your book awhile back and loved it. It’s probably been a year now and I just found your blog again. You’re still as refreshing as ever, I enjoy your phrasing. Thanks for the continuing inspiration.
